Privacy Policy

We collect information necessary to provide and improve the Layar+ streaming service. This includes data you provide directly, data collected automatically, and data from third-party authentication providers when you choose to use them.

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign up with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this information solely for authentication, account management, and service communications.

We collect basic device information such as browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and IP address. This data helps us optimize streaming quality, diagnose technical issues, and prevent abuse. Device information is not used to identify you personally.

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These are required for the Service to function. We also use functional cookies to remember your preferences, such as theme selection (dark mode) and language. No third-party tracking cookies are used for advertising purposes.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly.

We collect anonymized usage data to understand how the Service is used and to improve the user experience. This includes page views, feature interactions, and aggregate streaming statistics. This data cannot be traced back to individual users.

We track basic streaming activity such as which titles you watch and for how long. This data powers features like Continue Watching, personalized recommendations, and trending content. Streaming activity is associated with your account and is not shared with third parties.

Your watch progress is stored locally in your browser’s localStorage and associated with your account on our servers. This allows you to resume playback where you left off. Progress is stored per-device and does not sync across devices.

Titles you add to your watchlist are stored on our servers and associated with your account. This allows you to access your watchlist from any device where you are signed in.

Layar+ uses localStorage in your browser to store the following preferences locally:

• Continue Watching progress per title
• Theater mode preference
• Playback speed setting
• Volume level
• Quality selection
• Caption and subtitle preferences

This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except for Continue Watching progress, which is synced to your account for persistence across sessions on the same device. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Authentication is handled by Better Auth. Session tokens are stored in HTTP-only cookies and are not accessible via JavaScript. We do not log or store plain-text passwords. Password data is hashed before storage using industry-standard algorithms.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), secure password hashing, and HTTP-only session cookies. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Layar+ integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth:Used for optional sign-in. Google shares your name, email, and avatar with us. Your use of Google OAuth is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
• IDLIX-API: Our backend proxy for content metadata. No personal data is shared with this service.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Export your data in a portable format

Layar+ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided data should contact us.

The Service is operated from Indonesia. Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to Indonesia and other jurisdictions where our infrastructure operates.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
